DJI Pilot 2: Custom Network RTK (Mavic 3 Enterprise / Matrice 350)

For crews flying a Mavic 3E / 3T / 3M or Matrice 350 RTK (also M300 RTK) who want network RTK without a D-RTK 2 radio base. Consumer Mavic 3 / Mini / Air cannot do this. 3E and 3T need the clip-on RTK module. 3M includes it. Matrice has it built in.

Takes about five minutes. The controller needs cell or a hotspot. One stream at a time. Useful range is about 25 km from a live station.

NTRIP settings

Username and password come from your rtkUSA dashboard after you start a trial. Do not use your website login.

GGARequired. Pilot 2 sends the aircraft's own position once GNSS is locked. There is no GGA switch. Do not connect with a 0,0 position.

Port is 2101, not 2103. Wrong port fails silent.

Steps

  1. Aircraft and internet first. Power the RC and the aircraft and wait until they link. On a 3E or 3T, seat the RTK module on the PSDK port with both knobs tight — the RTK tab does not appear without it. Put the RC on a phone hotspot or a USB 4G dongle. Confirm the controller has internet before you touch RTK.
  2. Open camera view, then RTK. In DJI Pilot 2, go to camera / flight view. Tap settings (three dots, top right on most builds) and open RTK. Enable RTK Positioning. If you are mapping, turn Maintain Positioning Accuracy Mode off so you are not coasting on a stale fix.
  3. Custom Network RTK, not D-RTK 2. Under RTK Service Type, select Custom Network RTK. Leave D-RTK 2 Mobile Station selected and you get no NTRIP data. The aircraft may refuse to take off.
  4. Enter the caster. Host rtk.geodnet.com, Port 2101, dashboard username and password, Mountpoint AUTO in all caps. auto fails. Do not type a coordinate-system name into the mountpoint field.
  5. GNSS first, then save / connect. Wait until the aircraft has a satellite count outdoors. Then tap Save. Some Pilot 2 builds then show Connect or Start Transmitting — do not hit that until GNSS is live. Connect first and Pilot 2 can send a 0,0 GGA. The caster cannot pick a base from that. Disconnect, wait for satellites, reconnect.
  6. Wait for FIX. Aircraft RTK status should read FIX (not NONE / Converging / FLOAT) before you map. Keep the bird on the ground until it does. If RTK is enabled and there is no differential data, the aircraft will not take off. Leave the controller on the internet for the whole flight.
  7. If it still will not FIX, power-cycle the aircraft once outdoors and try again. Same settings.

A second RC or rover on the same account will knock the first one off.

No FIX?

  • Custom Network RTK selected, not D-RTK 2
  • Controller actually has LTE/hotspot (a browser on the RC loads a page)
  • Host rtk.geodnet.com, port 2101, mountpoint AUTO
  • Dashboard username/password, not the website login
  • Aircraft had satellites before you hit Save / Connect
  • 3E/3T: RTK module seated. If the RTK tab is missing, the module is off or loose
  • Open sky, and you are within about 25 km of a live station
  • Only one device using the account
